Participation requires building analyst training and shell/envelope specialist training followed by online and field testing. The training for the two certifications can be taken simultaneously. Please contact us to inquire about our next classes or you may elect to:
- take classes at out-of-state facilities such as Kansas Building Science Institute (http://kansasbuildingscience.com) or Metropolitan Energy Center (http://www.kcenergy.org) or
- take online training through Saturn Resource Management (http://srmi.biz)
We can arrange for you to take your tests online and field tests locally if needed. Mentoring is also available through our field proctor.

Upcoming Learning Opportunities
For contractors with a building science background who have an interest in providing whole house energy assessments. This class is ideally suited toward insulation, HVAC, and remodeling contractors. This class is offered ONLY for students who live in and/or do considerable business in Illinois:
Building Analyst & Shell Specialist Contractor Training
This class will teach you how to evaluate the energy performance, comfort and safety of a house through a
comprehensive, whole-house diagnostic procedure. You will learn about the hidden flaws often found in
residential construction that can cause discomfort, high utility bills, moisture problems and indoor air quality
problems. You will learn how to use powerful diagnostic tools to find and correct flaws in a building’s thermal
envelope.
